Jadro picnic area – park is a new educational and cultural destination located at the foot of Mosor, right next to the Jadro River, the river that means life. Our goal is to provide a new experience, emphasizing the ecological and cultural heritage of the Jadro River and the city of Solin.

What was once a small family picnic area near the source of the Jadro River has gained new educational and entertainment facilities. Partly located on a special ichthyological reserve, this area is now suitable for teaching and learning, research, but also for recreation and relaxation of visitors. Numerous educational facilities have been introduced to present the natural and historical heritage of this area, with a special emphasis on the study of soft-mouth trout. The entire area is connected by footpaths, enriched by the planting of native plants, and the presence of benches, baskets, racks for storing bicycles and other communal equipment makes for a pleasant and, above all, orderly stay.

Our Picnic Area can be thematically divided into several units, among which we would particularly highlight the area of ​​the former tupino quarry, which currently houses the School of Multifaceted Development – a sensory park, and the spawning ground of the endemic species of soft-mouthed trout Solinka. A World War II bunker has been converted into a softmouth trout interpretation center, a children’s playground, a bowling alley, and a visitor center with a multimedia hall have been renovated. The visitor center is connected by a central terrace to the catering facility, and parking is provided for cars, bicycles, and scooters. From the time of Emperor Diocletian, we inherit the oldest building, as well as the most beautiful promenade at our picnic spot – Diocletian’s Aqueduct.
