Interpretation infrastructure Mosor-South
Southern face of Mosor
You will certainly find various types of interesting plants walking along the circular path that starts and ends in the upper part of the village of Žrnovnica. This place shares its name with the five-kilometer-long but strong and fast river Žrnovnica, which flows from the southern foothills of Mosor towards the sea. In its upper course, our path separates from the green banks of the river, in order to reach the realm of the lunar landscape of Mosor’s ridges. In addition to the smell of herbs, you will enjoy the wide views from the viewpoints and interesting stories presented through interpretation panels. At one of the viewpoints, a special sound installation awaits you, which will evoke the significance of the water in the karst.
Since the trail is over six kilometers long, don’t forget to equip yourself with suitable clothes and shoes, and be sure to bring enough water.

“Although Mosor looks like a stone desert, a closer look will reveal real natural wealth. Some of the local species and habitats are also recognized through the European ecological network Natura 2000, so the entire area of the mountain, together with Kozjak and Trogir zagora, is included in this largest worldwide network of protected areas.”
